Help to Identify Remington 22 Rifle

Can anyone tell me what model this Remington 22 Rifle is? It looks like it is for a child. Any value?

  It looks like a Model 12-C Remington

  It is a Remington Model 12.
  Not a child's rifle unless he had wealthy parents for that day and age.
  Has the stock been shortened for a kid?

  The rifle is only 38" long...
  
  Thats why I say it looks like its for a kid. Any value?

  Actually, I believe it's a Model 12A. The 12C had an octagon barrel. It should have a 22" barrel whereas the 12C barrel was 24".
