Win 64 barrel taper

I just received my Model 64 and after a quick look at it I noticed that the tip of the barrel is taper (see pic) is that normal?

as one guy used to say on LAUGHIN . VVVEEERY INTERESTING. Now yo are going to make me look at my rifles. I don't have a 64 but yours looks factory.

I just looked at my Win 64 and I don't see or feel any extra taper near the muzzle like yours. Mine is a 30-30, circa 1950. Interesting indeed.

I have never noticed a non-linear taper like what you have indicated in the picture. I will need to check mine closely.

I would like to know if the front sight base is machined in the barrel?

It is not... it is silver-soldered to the barrel.
