weatherby mark v question
i saw a weatherby mark v in a 257 weatherby today at the pawn shop. my question is what model is it? it was made in japan, had a 24 inch barrel and a synthetic black stock with a weatherby cap on the pistol grip and weatherby on the recoil pad (it was a harder type of rubber or foam, not like the newer more recoil absorbing pads) in small letters. also the stock wasn't in the classic weatherby style, it was NOT a monte carlo stock but did have a cheek peice. Anyone know what model and vintage this gun is or could be?

it is not a vanguard, it has the 60 degree bolt, 9 lugs on the bolt and is marked weatherby mark v made in japan, it is a used gun. i think i just found it a gun book i have. i think it is a weatherby weathermark sythetic, made in the 1990's 0 -
Could be a Weathermark or an aftermarket stock on the Mk V. 0 -
It is probably a FiberMark dating from the mid-1990's -- S40 0 -
Ig the stock is injection molded, then it is a Weathermark...if the stock feels like fiberglas, then it is a Fibermark.
