I have been processing rusted magazines and a barrel, although not a complete gun, in Evaporust. It is mild but effective.
I would soak the complete gun in it for a couple of days before trying to force rusted assemblies apart.

Evaporust is available at auto parts stores, Midway, and direct; about $21 a gallon in bulk.

wrap in paper towels and then wet the towels with KROIL put every thing in zip lock bag and let sit 72 hours . then use brass potscrubber to remove any loose rut repete treatment until you can get gun apart to clean. Kroil is your friend. DO NOT use WIRE BRUSH SANDPAPER OF ANY KIND OR STEEL WOOL until last resort.

Out of curiosity, any idea on the Sauer model? Patent dates?
