Weaver K4, Lyman All American or one of the store brands rebadged by those two folks. I have used those often on my Savage 340's with the vintage Savage brand side mount and rings and they really scream period!

Hey Rob, good to see ya.. The Redfield 3/4 tube scope fits the bill.. Exact same time-frame, and was the same quality as their full-size.. They're exceptional scopes..

In the sixties, it was the only choice for top-of-the line .22's.. They were very expensive compared to Weavers-really no comparison.. I installed them on many 10/22's.. First (really only) choice for the Browning Auto..

Working in a shop, I purchased my first 10/22 the month they came out-1964.. First thing I did was put on the little Redfield.. Here's a Google for ya..

Forgot this.. Redfield made 3/4 split rings just for this model.. Might be hard to find, but they're out there..Don't be surprised at the prices [8D]

    Hi,

    I bought (and still have) a mid-1960's Ruger 10-22.

I purchased a Weaver 6X scope at the same time and it sat on top that rifle until about 3 years ago when the cross hair disintegrated.

    +1 for a Weaver.

    Regards,

I have 3/4" tube on a Browning 22 semi. It's Browning branded but came with Redfield rings, don't know if it's Redfield manufacture but if so that type fits "just right" on an older 10/22. Probably a bit easier to find, I think I'd go with a steel Weaver 2 3/4 to 5X with a straight tube, no bell up front. Post reticle would be neat too.

DWS..I have a Weaver V22 A scope. 3-6pwr variable. No bell just like above, but it's got a 7/8in body, like the Lyman Alaskan's, or the M84's.
If you have any mount setup in 7/8in ring size that would be suitable for the 10/22, give me a shout. Best, Joe
