OLD SHOTGUN SHELLS
I recently inherited some old shotgun shells and in the collection was some complete copper shotgun shells. They had 12 gauge on the base and a small emblem. The top was recessed and had a 3 (three) stamped on it. They looked like brass shells but were completely copper. I am trying to find out what they were used for and what is the value of them. Also would like to know if there is a publication out there that gives such information and where it might be purchased. Thanks in advance for any help that you fine people can give me.
Thanks again

MOST ARE GOOD TO MINT, A COUPLE, POOR TO GOOD.IS THERE SOME SITE OR SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP ME WITH THEIR WORTH AS A COLLECTABLE OR VALUES. MOST OF THESE WERE PUT INTO A LITTLE BIGGER BOX TO PROTECT THE SHELL BOX. THERE ARE A LOT OF 2PC BOXES. ALL THE BOXES ARE FULL AND SHELLS ARE IN VERY GOOD COND.
THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT BRANDS AND SIZES. SOME ARE:REM.SHUR SHOT, XPERT WESTERN, WIN. SUPER W SPEED, PETERS VICTOR,WIN. RANGER, WESTERN AUTO, JC HIGGINS, CANUK AND A FEW MORE. ALSO WHERE WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO SELL. ANY HELP YOU COULD GIVE ME WOULD BE GREATLY

Hi,
I don't know much about shotgun shell values. The ones you named are not particularly rare, but a complete box in excellent condition is always interesting for a collector.
Please use the below link:

These guys really know cartridges and shotgun shells. You should also be prepared to post photographs as no person will be able to provide an estimate without seeing the product.
Additionally, you can check the auctions on this website and others for collectible shotgun shells and see what prices the sellers are asking. Generally, prices for collectible cartridges on this website and others are ridiculously over inflated, so it would be best to start with an estimate from the above source. The IAA uses a price guide to set the value for many types of cartridges and shotgun shells.
Best wishes,

go to the auction site here and go to ammo-collectable-shotgun.
you can check and find most any kind of ammo you can imagine there
and check for values they are bringing.0 -
If the petrers has ducks or the Ranger has dogs it could go for $40 plus . also .410 usually goes for twice what 12 guage brings . Sorry for your bad luck - had to liquidate guns during a divorce 30 years ago - no fun!! 0 -
still looking for a response to my email. I'd probably buy the whole lot if you have more details 0 -
