Value of Browning Bolt action Safari
I have found a Browning Safari in 7mm Rem that is in 98% condition. The owner bought it in 1969 and only ran 1 box of shells through it and never shot it again. It has a Sako type of action (no claw extractor), no rust so I assume no salt wood. Any Idea what this is worth? and what kind of accuracy can I expect from this rifle? The rifle is not overly fancy so I would say it is a standard grade. Thanks for any help and Merry Christmas!!

To be sure about the lack of a salt problem remove the screws from the butt plate and if there's no rust on those you can be sure the rest of the gun is ok. These are very nice rifles and I've seen them in 98% at $2k but I think $1000 to $1200 is a more realistic price at this time. There are a couple recent sales on the auction side:

Thanks for the help. My problem know is do I hunt with it or store it? 0 -
If you are buying it as an investment, store it. If buying it to use, use it and don't worry about a small amount of depreciation. 0
