Yes, IIRC winchester started making some 26" full chokes in 1914. I have a 16 ga. with 26" full.

Drop a dime in the top of the barrel and let us know if it goes in. Then see if it has a solid rib or checkering, without that its between $300-$1500.

Nickel steel barrels were standard from August 1912 through 1931. I agree that a 26-inch Full choke barrel is very odd for a 12-gauge gun.

OK, I had the guy measure it again and he said that it's 27 & 1/2", so I would say that it's a 28" barrel and a full choke. Does that sound better now???
    Thanx,
    Tim

Better, but still not quite right. With the action closed on an empty chamber, run a cleaning rod down the bore until it bottoms out on the breech bolt face... mark and measure the rod where it intersects the muzzle entrance. Hopefully the length is 28-inches +/- 1/16".
