Mossberg 34 bolt action 22
Howdy,
I was recently given this old 1934 Mossberg Model 34 .22 cal. single-shot bolt-action rifle. Looks to be all original and fairly good condition. Seems to shoot fairly consistent as well, though I have not sighted it in yet.
After taking the bolt apart to clean out that old "gummy" grease, I found the firing pin has cracks.
So now I am in search of a new (used) firing pin and/or striker assembly and/or a complete bolt assembly. I have learned that the bolt is interchangeable with the Mossberg 30, which is also the Wards Western Field models 35A & 37.
It still fires rounds, but I want to be prepared for the inevitable. I'm not sure if I want to refinish the rifle... I kinda like the rustic and well used look of it.
Any help with a striker/ firing pin/ bolt would be greatly appreciated.

First off nice looking rifle. Too bad about the pin.. But if anyone has the part it's Vic and Cheryl Havlin.
www.havlinsales.com for your rifle you will need to give them a ring as there aren't many parts available 636-937-6401.
If you don't have any luck you might try to get a new part machined.0 -
+100 on Vic Havlin. BTW, some info on your rifle. Only made for 2 years. Price of firing pin and striker- ORIGINALLY- 50 cents.

Thanks guys.
I have tried Havlin, Numrich, and Hossiers.... no luck.
I have researched this rifle to death, and there is little info out there. So I am turning to the forums for help.
Happy Holidays,

First congrats on a grat looking rifle and I agree, keep it just the way it is. Rifles with some age one them like that look better than trying to make it new.
Next, great pictures, sure makes it easier to see what you have.
The firing pin ought to be a pretty easy one to make for some one with just basic skills in machining metal.0
