Serial Number?

I was given this number that is supposed to be the serial number from a Winchester Model 70, an older one. I do not from where this number was gleened from the gun. It has too many numbers? The number given is 61180120. I know nothing else about the rifle, as I have not seen it. Can anyone shed some light on this.

  HELP...I have a S&W model 19..serial number ADS2437 and I cant find out any info on it...year? Can anyone help!

  I may have found the answer: If the beginning number is not a number 6, but a letter G - it would reveal this model 70 was made in 1975. It would be G1180120.
