Hello Bob Chow was as you might know was one of a handful of Master Pistols smiths that also included James Clark, Shockey, Dinan, and my favorite John Giles ,These Artist built guns from what was available then . They Had no Brownells to purchase match grade parts. I have shot Bulls-Eye for a number of years Camp Perry 1972-2005 . I also collect Match grade Pistols . As to Value it is worth what someone will Pay but if I may give you my opinion . Your pistol will most likely NOT bring what some of the Modern semi factory guns sold today from Brown,Caspian, Les Baer, Wilson and others. Many of these guns built years ago only have a high value to a very small group of people and many of these people are selling rather then collecting.Just my 2?.many of these guns that show up here and other auction sites have high reserve prices and never sell.Feel free to email me if you want to chat about Match pistols I plan on taking my
collection to display to Camp Perry in 2012 and shoot one more last Hurrah as a super senior class 70 and over and if you want to increase my collection with a gift I do not have a BOB Chow Pistol. "PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN" 1911MATCH%20GROUP.JPGH.S.GROUPa.JPG[img][/img] editI am not giving up shooting just not going back to Camp Perry every year I retired in 2005 as I had a VERY GOOD year even had my name as a Google look-up but Thought I might be fun to go back one more time to shoot in the super senior class and display some of the guns I purchased from my friends when they retired I have some friends from West Va. that went last year all over 70 they shot on a team called them-self the GEEZERS SQUEEZERS

Wow P-S!!! I am currently affixing my match grade druel bib. Sometimes, lest I forget, I am reminded by posts such as yours I am a small time collector...really, that is a beautiful sight! I am distressed, however, that you plan to quit after 2012?! See if you can join Walter Walsh and a few others and do this stuff til your 100+...then you can rest on your laurels! Best,
    Bill

I don't have a F. Bob Chow "smithed" 1911, but I do have a 1968 Colt Trooper that according to my Colt Letter was shipped to his shop in 1968! [:D]
