Nambu
Check out the link below. Its for a Nambu in my area and looks like a decent package, but I think the price is a bit high. I have discussed making the purchase with the seller, but wanted an opinion before I moved forward.
Condition is an described in the link. Very nice package.

Hope you folks can help me out. My dad brought a pistol back from WWII. It is a Nambu (sp?). I believe the caliber is 8mm, but it may be smaller. It's unfired, in the original leather shoulder holster, with his authorization papers to bring it home in a pocket on the holster. The gun is basically mint condition, and even still has cosmoline still on it. I don't think he's interested in selling it, but I was just wondering if you have any idea on the value. Sorry I don't have any pics. I could try to get some next time I see him. 0 -
He's looking for top dollar. IF you are sure, and I mean SURE it is all correct and that "mint" word is not used too liberally then the ask is OK...not scintilating, but OK for what your getting. The $1800 was back when everybody still wanted collectible guns more than utilitarian AR's and such...such is no longer the case, and the market is tanked as well. 1K on the head would be better. 0 -
Well it is A nice rig for sure... I don't have my book with me, but I think that period pistol should have the rubberised canvas holster instead of the leather one,,,,so if I am right, the holster could have come home with it,,,OR added on after it got to the USA. I think I am correct on that,,Fatstrat, or Rufe might come along and see what they say. 1,000 would be a better price for me.. 0 -
26 seconds late on the price that 1KY stated.[:)] 0 -
Every time I see a military issued and used firearm described as mint, I laugh my a*s off. Unless it is something out of a museum, or it walked out of the arsenal in some guys bento box, it just so much hog wash and puffery.
We really need quality close-ups of the T 14 to make a accurate call. In the photo that is available can't tell anything, except the grips look a little on the worn side.
For that kind of money I would tend to pass on it. Just because some shuck and jive artist starts telling you that he has the greatest things since sliced bread, doesn't make it so. The only thing that makes it different from the thousands of others T 14's floating around, are the accessories. Other then the mags, just stuff that's been picked up over the years and married with the pistol to jack up the price.0 -
Thanks for the input. I wasn't really looking for a Nambu, but saw that Bob had this one, so had to check it out. I thought the price was a bit too high as well. Not to mention the mis-matched holster. Probably a good holster, but as MM8Nambu mentioned, an add-on from a later era.
Thanks again.
