Insurance claim USPS proof of value ??
What will the USPS accept as "Proof of Value" for a used item bought/sold on Gun Broker ? Is the auction result ie the selling price of the item, sufficient proof ? Or is some "expert" evaluation necessary ? Has anyone had experience with them fileing a claim.
Anyone can chime in.

I just used the invoice for a damaged item and took it and the item to my local PO. 0 -
When I was working, I would have accepted the GB sold price as actual value. It's not likely the average postal employee would be familiar with this auction site so it might not work that well everywhere. A search back on other sold prices might give a wider view of the value. 0 -
I have filed numerous claims from ebay sales. I usually submit a printout of the final selling price ("auction has ended") as well as the paypal invoice. Not sure if the latter is applicable here, however a copy of any paper payment should suffice. 0 -
Yes, print out of the GB sales price or a typed us sales invoice for that value (referencing the GB Auction number) would do fine.
I just got money from UPS for an L.C. Smith Barrel that they messed up. The shipper had to provide an invoice and that is what they did.0 -

Who was the carrier? UPS or the postal service (USPS)? 0
