Mark (Garand Stocks)
would you give me a ballpark figure what WWII Springfield buttstocks
in good condition with the cartushes(ps) would sell for? One is double stamped with with 2 cartushes. differant inspectors

99% of the "WW2" M1 rifle stocks offered for sale are altered, abused, refinished, misrepresented, or fake; the other 1% are wrong for your rifle.
We don't know what your rifle is, & we don't know the appropriate stock for it, so there is no way that we can tell you the fair price of a stock that probably doesn't exist.
If you are trying to do a "restoration", forget about it.

nmyers,
these stocks are not altered, abused, refinished, misrepresented,or fake. these 1% are not wrong for the time period.Who died and made you an Expert? I know what my Garand is.The month and year it was made, the drawing numbers and the appropriate stock is on the rifle. i'm not trying to restore it,I was trying to ask a question to Mark. you are trying to call me a lier, however you're know it all post only shows you don't know what you are talking about. you have no idea what i have, AND I Was not addressing You, Unless you changed your name to Mark.
Atleast don't think you know what people own,and people do not have things they ask about. my garand is a modified gastrap ser# 9XX0 -
Simmer down cer. I had an early morning doctors appointment and then went to my mothers to take her to lunch for her birthday. I have only turned on the computer a few minutes ago for the first time today. Neal was only attempting to help you. There were five distinct stock cartouches used by Springfield during WWII and they all have different values. If you ahve a three digit number you are looking at an SPG with an un drilled butt (no cleaning kit trap) and these are probably selling for over $1000...If you can find one at all.
I am not a big player in the parts resale end of M1 collecting so if anyone has current values on Springfield stocks please help me out.0
