R Southgate, flintlock rifles
I have two left hand Flintlock rifles, one is a .38 cal., the other is a .58cal., both were made for me back in the late 1050s and early 1960s. I no longer shoot them and would like to get some idea of there value today and where I could sell them at a fair price.
They are in fair, but shooting condition.
I would welcome any comments or ideas. I would put them up for sale
on Gun Broker, but I am not sure how to do it.

Left handed flinters sell great if you get good advertisment on them. OOf course GB and AA are 2 auction sites BUT if you have a set price in mind list the on:
http://frontierfolk.net/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=11&sid=76997aa82754075e81a236aa6598d593
which is a trading post forum on Frontirefolk.net. They cater to Rev War reenactors mainly and that is who will give you the best dollar for the left handed flinters. Also otehr gun forums that have a buy/sell forum is a good place being many left handed shooters who want to get into flintlock guns would be interested. Also contact:
http://www.trackofthewolf.com
http://www.dixiegunworks.com
and see if they might buy them or sell them on consignment.
Another place to check is the links section on the NMLRA site (National muzzleloding rifle Association) at:
http://www.NMLRA.org
The NMLRA even has classified section to list them for sale for a fee.
Would love to see pictures and have more info on them as to what style they are. I know of several lefties looking for flinters. Hope this helps.0
