Any of those will do....and check Savage, too. Buy the one that feels the most comfortable for you.

In my experience, it is hard to find an inaccurate rifle in this chambering.

This-or one like it, is the only brand I would consider. My 2c.

I would search the gunbroker auctions for a remington model 788. They ain't fancy or pretty, but I have yet to see any out of the box, bolt gun shoot as well as them in 22/250 caliber. Bob

I was at the Sioux City Iowa gunshow today and one of the dealers had a 22-250 Savage Model 12FV with the 26" heavy barrel listed for $499.

    Savage.

However all the others are fine guns, just personal preference on my part.

I recently bought an inexpensive new Savage Edge (now AXIS). It's a sporter weight, camo stock and piller beded. I have tried several handloads and the very worst group into less than 1/2 in. for 5 shots at 100 yds. How do you beat that? I mostly use 36gr of H380 and 55gr Hornady V-MAX for typical groups under 3/8 in. I shure don't need a heavy barrel. I like the rifle so much I put in a Rifle Basix trigger - big improvement. I have R19 and H4831 powders too and they gave excellent results too. Even the 60gr partitions shoot well under an inch. This gun shoots circles around my 1200.00 Ruger

Right now, I'm pushing Howa for an economical shooter. I don't like or trust the Accutriggers(or any similar setup).

The Howa's are a nice rifleand you can't go wrong with them for the money, but please don't be afraid of the accutrigger, it is a nice piece of equipment, of course I replace the trigger's on most of my rifles so that may also be an idea.

Here is a Savage with a canjar trigger intalled:

Now the big thing to be thinking about is the optic your going to be putting on your rifle, you can't hit anything if you can't see it....
