I just purchased my first Model 70. I'm really impressed! I am thinking about another one in a synthetic stock for heavy woods and brush. I like the pre 64 bolt. Can anyone tell me what Serial # is the break on the action. Where does the new/old style start. I was told they started in 94 making the pre64 design again. Any help appreciated. Where did the pre-64s serials stop at. or a web sight that gives me the Numbers. Thanks

    hey guys looking for a high powered rifle in 30-06.the remington 700 in really want is a little to steep until after christmas,the local wallmart has a synthetic model 70 with a simmons 3.9 on it out the door for 315.00 with tax. does anybody out there know about this? i havw always had remingtons,thanks

    The Pre 64 is a collector item Because they were made by hand OLD WORLD craftsmanship Not Mass produced by a Company of another name that sells a product Called WINCHESTER in name only sort of like a piece of outdoor power equipment called TROY BUILT but is made by MTD[V][:(]
