Remington Model 700
I've searched on the site but cannot find the value of this rifle. It is a REM 260 Model 700 with a Weaver scope and has been shot once. Thanks.

On the model 700 remington 30-06, when did remington start marking them 30-06? I am thinking about buying one off of a friend, he says it is marked 30 caliber instead of 30-06. Is this a remington model 700? Thanks for your help. Sgt 0 -
Does it have a floor plate, and a black fortip and grip cap? If it does it's a BDL. If it has a blind magazine and no forend or grip cap it's an ADL. The serial number doesn't mean much, there is a single letter code on the barrel that will give the manufacture date.

Or if it completetly covered in mossy oak camo , its a 700 Camo Synthetic. Theres probably dozens of different varations on the 700. The Standard Catalog of Firearms has a pretty good section on 700's , showing many of the varietys. 0 -
The L and the O on the left side of the barrel, just in front of the receiver is the barrel code. This tells you the date of manufacture, unless the barrel is not original to the rifle. The L= Feb and the O=1977
