Single point sling
I have a Mossberg 500 Cruiser special purpose #54125 and would like to put a single point sling on it. I have zero experience with them and looking to the experts for a little education. Will any single point sling fit or do I have to find something specific? What are the main things I need to consider when comparing slings? I'm sure they are not all created equally!
Here's what my current configuration looks like.

Thanks in advance.

First you will need a single point sling swivel that you can attach the sling to. This will be a metal device that attaches between the buttstock and the receiver of the shotgun. This is a seperate item from the sling. There are several single point slings out there so look around.

You will need something like this:

Remove buttstock and place the adapter between stock and receiver.0 -
I am not normally a fan of single point slings myself.
Here is a good review of slings, their use and strong/weak points, http://demigodllc.com/articles/tactical-slings/0 -
I have one on my rifle and it is either too narrow, or the rifle is too heavy, because carrying the rifle slung just wears me out about the place where the sling bears on my trapezius. 0 -
I have a homemade single point connection sling which attaches to a sling swivel like yours. It sort of works but you'll find a problem keeping the swivel from unscrewing due to the twisting stress. I don't care for single point for any but the shortest weapons. Just my opinion. 0 -
Single point slings have several problems...try looking at a Viking Tactical sling. Easily adjusted, holds close to the body yet can move into position for any height or body carry style....much better usefulness for transitioning from a long gun firing position to moving the long gun away from the shooters hands. 0
