Two questions if I may.I bought this .44 used and didn't get a manual so as I was cleaning it with the grip off and I wonder how many springs and parts go flying if I pull out the plate and pin that the hammer toggles on? and second I usually don't but shot 50rnds of non jacketed wad cutters and am quite tired of trying to get the lead build up out of the forcing cone, when I was purchasing a new bronze bore brush(upgrading the aggressiveness from nylon) I noticed a lead removal kit that had round screen patches but i figured I better get some of the great input this board is so famous for before i do something drastic due to my laziness. Thanks drawn

Nice! The jackwagon who cut the barrel did so right at the frame, and then grinded the barrel down all the way to the frame! If I can get the old barrel out, I believe I could eventually find a new barrel. Is this possible? Are there any resources for barrels out there?

gunpartscorp.com lists barrels but are currently out--you can try Ruger since that gun is still in production. There were no barrels on the auction side.

What was he trying to do, build an Alaskan?

I would try Ruger and see what it would cost. Chances are they would also insist on installing the barrel.

He must have been trying to build an Alaskan. It's just garbage now I think. I could have gotten it for $250.00. I think I will pass! I called Ruger, abd they even told me to stay away from it for the most part. Wouldn't quote me a price to repair!!!
