I have heard that they may have an aftermarket top cover with a built in scope rail. Anybody know about these?

MNT-970T is the stock number,,,for the AK mount. Have the box it came in when I got the rifle but don't know who made it.

I personally, do not like the dust cover type scope mounts. There are the side mounts you can get, and sucessfully either drill and tap, or rivet the reciever with them. Arsenal USA does a great job with these milled recievers and scope mounts.

Looks like its made by Leapers. Any feedback on the item from anybody? Will it fit a milled receiver?

Check out the photo in my signature line it is a Bulgarian SLR95. I have a Hammers T-dot sight on it with about 500 rounds through it with no problems so far. I believe this is the AK UTG mount about $39. It's the one in the second picture. I went back and added this photo with a Bushnell M&P 1x32 T-Dot on it.

How does it mount? I dont believe that my fathers SLR 95 has the mount on the side of the receiver.

Mine came with a side rail and the mount just clamps on to it.

Is it just riveted on? I suppose I could have a gunsmith attach the side mount. It looks like they are available online.
