mauser 22 LR value and model

I have a Mauser 22 LR bolt action rifle. It looks like a little sportized Model 98. It has a Mauser stamp on top front of receiver, on left side of barrell it is marked Patrone 22 Long Rifle, on the right side DRP DRGM. On left side of receiver MAUSER WERKE A.G.OBERNDORF R.N. This gun at one time had a hooded front sight but it is missing. It has a detent in front sight where the front sight blade can be changed out. This gun has a Mauser cartouche in the left side of stock and a schnable fore end. This gun is a repeater as it has a 5 shot clip. It also has an attachment on underside of barrell for a sling as well as sling attachment in bottom of stock. It has a military tangent type rear sight marked in meters I believe. Gun is also grooved on top of receiver for tip off scope mount. I have tried to research this gun but have had some difficulty finding a specimen quite like this one. ES 350 etc. This gun I belive was made for export, does have other stamps (proof marks).I love this little gun, it is stunningly accurate and a beautiful little rifle and is in 85-90% or better condition. Appears all orginal. What the heck is it, is it collectable. Any ballpark figure as to value.

    From your description it could be the deluxe version of the Model 410. You didn't give the dimensions but the 410 had a 23 1/2" barrel, was 40 3/4" length wise, and weighed just a little over 5 lbs.

    Post quality photos of it. If it's factory original and in Very Good condition it could be a big buck collectors item to a Mauser rifle collector.

    I will try to get pictures of gun it is however 42 1/2 " in length and from end of receiver to end of barrel is 22 3/4 " Gun has rounded pistol grip which is checkered but fore end is not. Has wide trigger guard with diamond cut checkering cut into bottom. I know a picture is worth a thousand words!

    It should be a Mm 410 B. The "B" in the model shows it is the later actioned of the 410 named rifles. (the earlier Mm 410 had a totally different action from yours) The "B" rifles were produced from about 1934 til the WWll years. As rufe-snow stated, the rifle could be worth
    a fair to a collector, as this is one of the more desirable of the Mauser smallbore rifles.

    I can't help much but a I do have a rifle very similar to your description which was aquired by Dad during WW2. Mine is accurate to the extreme and was used by my niece to win several matches about 40 years ago. Mine also has an elaborate rear peep plus the open rear sight and several inserts for the front sight. You are correct about the changeable front blade.

    Thanks for the response it is indeed a model 410B, did find exact picture (of my gun) on web with that model number. Ones I saw were beat compared to the one I own. Thank you very much, you guys were spot on. I need a value for insurance purposes(ballpark) it in my subjective opion to be considered "very good" Thanks again you guys were great. The enigma wraped in a mystery is no more. Do not want to sell gun as it was accquired from a dear friend. Anyway, you would'nt sell your little brother would you!? I l.ove this gun!

    There is a Mm410B auction(not GunBroker) ending in 2 hours, it's at $1050 now. It appears to be a very nice specimen.
