    Yes Remington did mark some of their early 6mm with a magnum stamp as that's what they were going to call the 6mm but eventually decided against it as it was the same as the 244 rem except for changing the bullet weights and changing the rifles to at least 1-10 rifling from 1-12. The factory was supposed to go and XXX the mag out on their production but apparently a few were missed. Now you have one of those. I suppose that some collectors would pay a little extra to have one so marked but personally it wouldn't be enough to keep me from letting my daughter shoot and enjoy the gun if that's what you bought it for. Always a great conversation piece.

    Thanks 20gabob, appreciate the info. She likes the rifle too much anyway, I'd probably have a fight on my hands.
