What choke? Nothing scientific but I have a Rem 12ga with both a 26" Imp Cyl and a 28" Full choke (no tubes) and over time I pretty much stop using the 28" to hunt with. I was happy with the 26" for all conditions and would just switch between regular game loads and magnum shells depending on what I was hunting.

If your primary use is bird hunting (upland game) you may find the slightly quicker swing of the 26 inch to be an advantage. If you're shooting sporting clays then a longer barrel may improve your swing; watch the competitive clay shooters, most of them are using 30 or even 32 inch barrels. For most applications I don't think you'll see much difference in your results just based on the difference between 26 and 28 inches. Suggest you handle both and pick the one that feels best. I like a 26 inch barrel for quail, a 28 for pheasants, and a 30 for sporting clays. . . .just one opinion though.

Just my 2 cents....Shotguns have to fit and FEEL right. The swing is affected by the length. If you could try all the options, that"s great. If in doubt go for the longer tubes. Bob
