seacamp 32 pistol question
This question may be only from my lack of knowledge but here goes. Seacamp recommends using only hollow point ammunition in its pistols. I really enjoy plinking/target shooting (at 10 yards) with my pistols. I would plan to do that also if I were to purchase one. I have currently a 32 kel-tec which operates absolutely fine with ball ammo. So what is up? Is this just a recommendation when carrying the pistol for CC? It doesn't seem logical to me that this could in any way damage the barrel. Is that what this is all about? Thank you in advance for your advice/opinions.

When the Seacamp first came out, it was made to feed Winchester Silvertips. They said anything else might not feed.
I think the new one out now feed other rounds.
The kel-Tec 32 I had needed some feed ramp work to feed some HP'S.0 -
Back in the 90's I called Seacamp & spoke with Larry on this subject. He related that the magazine was not made to hold the longer 32 acp ball or fmj rounds as the pistol was not designed for them. The concern was that the heavier bullet caused faster slide speeds which could be detrimental to the pistol. Previously, when 32 Glazer Safety Slugs where being developed, he sent them a pistol for them to consider when working up their cartridge. At the time however, he said that although the Glazers should work, he could only recommend the Winchester Silver Tip. We put a few mags of Glazers through 3 different pistols & they worked fine. 0 -
The only reason the Seecamp uses HP ammo is because the magazine was originally designed to hold the shortest round available, which was Winchester Silvertip. Today many other manufacturers produce ammo short enough to function well in the Seecamp.
The early Seecamps came with a note that said to shoot only WST ammo. This is also why many people who own early Seecamps are under the mistaken belief the WST is the only round the gun will shoot.
Winchester now makes a solid round that is the same overall length as the HP round and these will work in the Seecamp.
The Seecamp magazines were/are build too small to accept normal 71 gr. ball ammo.
The goal of the first Seecamp was to build the smallest gun possible. The Seecamp is still one of the smallest guns you can buy. The .380 Seecamp is remarkably smaller than the Keltec or Ruger.
A revival of the old Autauga, by Masterpiece, is nearing the market and may give Seecamp a run for it's money. Maybe... we'll see. [;)]0 -

NAA already has a Seecamp clone on the market
Is this one really going to be better?
The one thing about the Seecamps, is that they are hand fitted, or at least WELL-fitted, so they run well.0 -
