I've had great luck with the BSA sweet .22. I think sportsmansguide or cheaper than dirt has them on sale through the end of the year.

I need recommendations on a good scope for either one of my Mossberg Bolt actions or my Marlin Bolt. I mostly wil be shooting 22LR and want a good scope but nothing that will break the bank. My last scope is still going strong Bushnell 3x9-32 on my Marlin 60

You know this one is good, you got one already.

When it comes to small caliber and light recoiling cartridges just about any scope with decent glass/guts will work. I've got a 3x9x40 Bushnell banner with the eruo type focus on my Ruger 17HMR and I have been very happy with it. My sisters kid regularly takes out/cleans up quarter size chunks of skeet on the 100yd berm with it.....

At the suggestion of others on this board when I asked the very same question about 5 years ago, I have a fixed 4x Simmons "22 MAG" scope on my Remington .22.

Awesome?. . .no. . .but designed for .22s, plenty good enough, and it comes with rimfire mountable rings, which is a nice plus.

I think I paid $30 for mine on sale then, but they probably run about $50 now.

You could do the 3-9x version, though I think 9x is a little bit of overkill for most .22 shooting.

Try Mueller or Pentax - neither is very expensive and each has very good glass.

I've also had good luck with the BSA Sweet .22 that I mounted on a CZ 22 Varmint. I bought mine at Dick's for about forty bucks.

I will side with bpost. I like crisp optics on all my rifles, despite the caliber in which they are chambered for. Don't think for one minute that a 22LR is not capable of bring home some of the same bacon that a 30-30, or 30-06 would...especially with a good scope.
