is lowering the trigger pull poundage just a matter of cutting spring or installing lighter one? can I polish trigger sear to reduce? thanks!

Messing with the 1100 trigger is not a good idea for what you'll gain out of it.
The aftermarket trigger is your best bet.....0 -
Yes to cutting small amounts of spring or installing lighter one. Polishing sear can result in dangerous sear-trigger engagement and is irreversible. A trigger pull of 3 to 4 lbs is the minimum for safe shotgun use. Use a trigger pull gauge and proceed slowly. 0 -
I will second mrbruce's suggestion. I do believe that Timney makes or used to make a drop in trigger assembly for an 1100. But by any means, take it to a reputable gunsmith. This is no place for the beginner to start his career. You can't bring back an AD.
