tc contender
I have a contender pistol I bought new in 1983 with a 10" round bull barrel. I recently purchased an octagon barrel and then just now a used fore end to make it work. The screw hole in the fore end is not shouldered (recessed) so the screw head just slips right thru it. Has the fore end been altered or does the octagon fore end fasten differently than the round barrel. If so do I need an insert or what to make it fit. I got a screw with the used octagon barrel but it is just like the screw in my round barrel. I would like to do more with this contender but I don't know where to get more info or manuals on the early one. The serial on mine is 266819.

Do any of you guys know what it costs to have a frame repaired by TC? I just bought an older frame w/safety on the hammer, and it's missing whatever holds the selector in the face of the hammer. 0 -
A while back I purchased a T.C. 44 octagon hotshot barrel from the auction side. Not having the proper forend for it, I simply bolted the bull barrel forend to it. It works perfectly, just has a little gap between barrel and wood. The hole for the screw in your forend has apparently been drilled out. There should be a shoulder for a metal washer to seat against to act as the bolt stop. Ed 0 -
I would say someone drilled out the screw hole. I have a half dozen or so forends, they all have the shoulder and use the same screws. 0 -
My oct. forearms have metal inserts. Will shoot fine with the round forearm. 0
