Has anyone tried Caswell's electroless nickel plating kits?

Look in that old standby, The Yellow Pages of your telephone book under metal plating.

Quackenbush .22s are semi-antiques, and you should be aware that refinishing will lower the collector value.

I would personally use a plater who knows and understands firearms and has significant experience in nickel plating them. I would be careful not to use a run-of-the-mill plater who typically plates auto parts, industrial equipment, etc.

Fords does nice work-be aware it's not cheap but cheap and plating shouldn't go hand in hand unless you want it to come out looking like a Bubba Bumper Chrome Special. http://fordsguns.com/ they have a pictures section so you can see what their work looks like.

Fords will do a good job, as replating goes.

I remember reading that Quackenbush made airguns and .22s but they were early leaders in nickel plating and did really good work on their inexpensive products.

They continued in business for a long time doing plating and manufacturing nutcrackers. HMQ filed bankruptcy in 2005 and I cannot tell if they survived the process.
