Serial Number Search

I have a Glock I am going to put up for bid soon and it is preban. Where do I go to look up serial number to ascertain year of mfg. Be useful on item description. Also, where is the magic serial number key for most all guns?

Thanks for you help. Wish I knew tenth of what some of you know about gun works.

  I am looking for a way to do a serial number search on a Star 380 pistol. According to the books this firearm has not beed imported since 1964. Does anybody know of a place to run a SN search on this handgun. Below is a example of what I have; however, mine is stainless steal and is in near mint condition.
