That's an easy 1000 dollars plus, especially if all paperwork and tags are present. And yes, that, my friend, is a rare bird. You just don't ever see a 97 NIB. Could even go for considerably more than I can estimate. Wait till the experts weigh in.

I agree that there is potential high value here...check the sticky topic above to see the proceedures for posting pics...pure speculation up to that point.

EDIT #1:Oh my...wow...pics are not that great but I'm not sure they need to be. Even in this economy, I would pony up $1500 like my wallet was on fire. Bert et al will be along shortly...they are actual Winchester collectors and will tell you what the market will bear, as opposed to my wallet!

Please provide the serial number... with it, I can give you the exact day, month, and year that it was serialized.

A NIB Model 97 is a tough find, and would be worth a premium to those of use that collect them.

OK I finally had time to look at this gun closely. the thing looks brand new everywhere. no tags in box though. the only thing that looks like a wear mark is on slide levers which look like they may have been worked. just little slide marks but i could be wrong. threads on barrel snd reciever look like theyve never been touched no shiny spots at all. there is some cardboard dust all over the gun maybe from box deteriorating? im not an expert but barrel doesnt seem to have a srcatch in it either. only thing that looks used are the little marks that look like slide was used. maybe factory inspector? what do you guys think?
