    According to the Blue Book Pocket Guide For Colt Dats of Manufacture, pg55
    Anaconda Model
    Mfg. 1991-2006, S/N stamped on crane and frame facing crane.
    1991..................MM01001 1999........................N/A
    1997..................MM94001 1992-1996...................N/A
    1998..........AN01164,MM99101 2002-2006...................N/A
    From the number you gave, I would think that your pistol dates from
    1991. I hope the info helps.

    The only way to tell for sure, is to call Colt. You could even get a letter for it, which would help later down the line, should you decide to sell it.

    i was told that the serial# that starts with AN is a colt custom shop gun[?]which i have one and it is tapped for mounts ,but it is a 4" bbl,go figure # AN033xx i guess mine is from 1998.
