How to Sell Unique Gun - Part 2
Jacob,
God Bless you and your family. I FEEL that what you have there is UNIQUE and definitely worth more than what you were offered. Of course feelings are not facts - you need to explore and meditate on the value to you, your family and others before you make a fast decision on selling this item. I was gratified to see the article that BIG LOOP posted as vidication of your posting. There is goodness left in this country and I strongly believe you have been touched by it.

Yes and I eat my words. There has been so much B.S. posted here lately that this one seemed like another one.
10,000 would go towards ones education and thats where it would go if it was mine,,,but whatever,,good story.[:I]0 -
I asked Sarah's staff if they would take a picture of her and I with the stock and I was told that wasn't allowed. Mrs Palin then ordered the photographer that travels with her to take the photo and to make sure they took down my name, adress and phone # and a picture will be mailed to me.
I'm a nobody and I hope she realizes just how big of moment she created in my life by taking all the time to do this for me.
My Dad has told me that I shouldn't worry about money as we have always gotten by and that what the gun and that moment represents in my life should be held onto no matter what.
It wasn't really my intention of selling it...I simply do not know how to insure it for what it is worth with her signature on it. Every collector and auction I have talked to have all said the same thing..they are not aware of another gun that she has signed being sold publicly.
I never really considered it as a big deal until the newspaper tracked me down at my high school as they had heard from someone that she had signed the stock.
No matter what anyone else has to say she is 100% a class act in my book and treated me with respect and kindness even though I'm sure she could tell I was nervous and tongue tied!0 -
Great story! You seem like a fine young man and your Father sounds like a great guy.
My advice, keep the gun. You can always, find or make money. The gun will be something to cherish forever.
Thanks for sharing,

Jacob,
The best way to insure it is to get the best fire safe you can get for your firearms collection. Make sure it is big enough for a substantial expansion too. When you get that safe, make sure that it is lagged to the floor.

I doubt very much anyone will actually pay a lot of money for the signature of someone who is still very much alive and signing things. You might try asking for offers but think you would be way happier keeping it at least until Sarah becomes president. Get a cheap replacement stock so you can use the gun and keep Sarah's stock put away safely so the signature does not rub off. 0
