Cost of shipping ammo?
I see in the sticky above that if we want to ship ammo we should use UPS and have the ORM-D sticker on it.
Is there an additional cost for this sticker/service?
Can any UPS shipper ship ammo?

no extra cost but needs to be dropped off at a hub not a ups store or similar. Most of those won't take ammo but you could ask them. It has to do with insurance I was told. If prepaid you can hand it to a driver if you see one 0 -
You can use a black marking pen and just write in on the box.
Like GB sad, it has to go to a hub to be shipped.0 -
My hub will not take them... they keep saying hazmats are not allowed despite how many times I tell them ORMD and HAZMAT are two different classifications... I eventually gave up and just give the packages to my ground driver because I see him almost daily... 0 -
I use 3 out of the 4 UPS stores around me. One has a hunter/shooter as owner, he knows what
I ship and doesn't care. Second one wants the blue standard Orm-d stickers and it's good to go. Third asks whats in side, I answer "brass bullets" and they ship them. Talk to your Ups store, they need the "sales" too in this economy. Don't use the word "ammunition", big words tend to scare some people. Bob0 -

If you do not mark the box ORM-D you may land yourself in trouble... not labeling the box or misleading by stating it's just bullets and not loaded ammo is no good either...0 -
I label all the boxes with the CORRECT label. my post may have been misconstrued. I meant
that different stores follow different rules.

It cost me $16.35 On Monday to ship a box of 50 .300 Win Mag to a friend. It arrived today as it has to go by ground. UPS made it in 2 days. That was from Minnesota to Montana, so distance-wise I would think that would be an average cost for shipping ammo. 0
