S&W Revision numbers
When S&W makes a revision, is it for all the variations of that model at the same time?
If I have a 29-2 and a 629-2, were the revisions the same for both models and were they implemented/introduced at the same time?
Thank you.

The answer to your first question is yes, but the 29 and 629 are different models, not variations of the same model.
No, those revisions are not for the same reasons and not at the same time. The model 29 has been around much longer than the 629.
The model 29-2 change was in 1962 and was to change the cylinder stop and to eliminate the trigger guard screw.
The model 629-2 change was in 1988 and was to introduce a new yoke retention system, a radius stud package, floating hand, and the availability of integral scope mounts for the 8 3/8" barrels. There was also a 629-2E change in 1989 making some none visible changes.0
