colt python ????'s

"new" stainless python with KT7xxx serial number (1992-96 dom). runs great, but there is a metallic ping when the trigger is released. took it apart and there's nothing different than any of my other pythons (1960-70's models)
any ideas?

  Many guns have a different resonance when the hammer falls depending on the grips they are wearing at the time. Try changing grips and hear what happens. The sound travels thru the frame differently with rubber versus wood.
