loading pistol rounds on Hornady L-N-L
Since the L-N-L powder measure only comes ready to load rifle, I hear I need to buy the set-up for pistol. I have seen the rotor/metering assembly sold as a set and also the pistol metering assem. sold alone with no rotor. Do I need to get both or does the pistol metering assembly fit in the rotor that comes with the powder measure?

You will need #050128 & #050129 to losd pistol rounds. 0 -
050128 is the rotor and pistol metering insert
050129 is the micrometer pistol metering assembley
I think 050128 is all I would need isn't it?0 -
#050128 is all I purchased and all I used. I loaded my first 500 40SW with the rifle meter. It will work, just not quite as good on throwing a charge within .1 as I like.
I use the pistol for 40SW and the Rifle for 223. Both will through exact charges over 70% of time and within .1 well over 90%. Maybe even better and the pistol is better. And the nice thing, no adjusting required if components stay the same. Always check though.
I did buy Hornady's taper crimp die as I load 40SW.
My order:
1-Sizer
1.5-Primed in downstroke
2-bell flare
3-powder
4-bullet seating
5-taper crimp.
Always check powder when adding bullet. Had one squib load from first 100 when I was setting up and running single. oops[8]
But now several thousand later, all good. Nice press, just have to upgrade mine with the EZ-ject system. Then near perfect.
Not sure on the powder through expander, thought of that for using a powder cop. But never did it.0 -
Thanks for the info! Do you know if all powder through dies will work with the LNL powder measure on the press or does it have to be the Hornady powder through die? 0
