2230-s powder ?
Anyone using 2230-s powder? I found 2 sealed 8lb jugs of this. Most 1 lb containers have AA 2230 on them. Maybe the bulk containers are labeled different. These are not new jugs, but are sealed. They have Accurate Arms on the back label. They have load data for 223 Rem and 308 Win on container. The seller wants $90 each if I buy both. Just want to make sure they compatible with the new load data for AA 2230.
Thanks for the help from the experts on board.

I believe the "s" was included to indicate a "salvaged" powder. (from dismantled ammunition) Load data should be close...start low and work up. 0 -
I don't know if the "S" means salvaged or not, but AA has this on their website:

It's military contract powder. This stuff is apparently not pulldown?
So basically start at or just above AA2230 or starting loads for 2460 It won't hurt to run four or five up a ladder and see when you start seeing some real pressure. Then work a regular ladder from there.0 -
I load AA2230 and have had real good results. I've not encountered any 2230S.

[8D] I've used a lot of it, but my 8lb can has a AA2230c onit and is supposed to be the military (5.56) powder-
I've been told that it's a little SLOWER than the AA2230, just be sure and monitor your GR loads by the decimal-ie 25.2/25.4/25.6 grains
Very fine Ball powder
Good buy

The S probably means "SPHERICAL" which is the same as 2230-C, a slightly slower powder than AA-2230. Use AA-2460 data and work up from there. 0 -
Thanks for the help guys. If I purchase it I may copy the label and let you look it over.
Thanks again for the advice.0
