$ for recoil pad and install?

Any ideas what a typical recoil pad and install would be at a gunsmith? Have an A-5 that needs one and rifle one that needs to be replaced. Probably have to so some cutting on the A-5 stock.

  It depends. I charge 35.00 labor plus the price of the pad. Some charge more, some charge quite a bit more, some less. Depending on the price of the pad (you can check online, try Brownells) will depend on the total cost. I would try to not cut the stock if possible as it will greatly affect the value of the gun.

  Depends on the gun and type of pad you want, plus where you are located geographically.
  
  Figure about $40 for the installation (if uncomplicated) and another $20-30 for the pad itself.
  
  Also, there are guns that have "drop in" pads available. If you're replacing one on a gun that already has a pad installed, you might check first to see if one is available before going to a gunsmith.
