1893 Marlin question
Can somebody give me an example of how Marlin would have stamped the caliber on the barrel for a 30-30, on a rifle made in say 1900?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Hello,
If a 1893 Marlin has a pistol grip stock is this considered a deluxe model 1893?

Do you mean officially, by Marlin? Or collector terminology?
If officially by Marlin, I don't know. I looked through some minimal Marlin Lever Action literature I have but no definitive answer.
As for collectors, it's wide open. Some might say deluxe, others special order. For me, if a gun has cosmetic special order features (such as engraving, gold/silver plating, fancy grained wood, etc.) I would be more inclined to call it deluxe. If it has functional special order features (set triggers, longer barrel, tang/globe sights, etc.) I would call it a special order rifle.
And if it has a combination of both cosmetic and functional, how about a Special Order Deluxe [:)]
Semantics, I guess.
