Neal, Thanks for the auction # 198400022 picttures of the Remington 1911A1.
My pistol matches all of them except for one.
In the pics it shows a G on the trigger guard forward right side, mine has a W in that location. Otherwise the could be twin brothers.

Neal,
I was M1 Garand shooting with a friend of mine today and his rifle would mis-fire (light hit)after every two or three shots. One time, even though it ejected the spent round and loaded a fresh one, it did not cock the hammer during battery.
The rounds with the light hit were put back into the weapon one at a time and fired.....All ammo being fired was factory Lake City Match.
Suggestions please...

Letters stamped on the trigger guard are believed to be those of plant inspectors, so it really doesn't matter that they are different.
It sounds like you have a nice gun, enjoy it.
