    What do you want done?
It might be worth the shipping to get a major job to a specialist.

The best gunsmith I know of is Gary at Wilderness Fish & Game in Sauk City. Gary used to be with Rusk Guns in Madison until the hippies in Madison City Hall drove them out of business but he's doing great in Sauk City now. Does incredible trigger jobs. Their number is 608-643-2433

    Gary is worth the drive.

Hey Rawhide you have it all wrong. Rusk was outside of the city limit. What happened to Rusk was Walt Pearson, the owner died and it took his greedy son 1 year to bankrupt a store that was in business since the end of WWII. Regardless, Gary does very good work.

I stand corrected. I thought I'd heard one of WIBA's talk show folks say that local government had pushed them out but probably heard wrong.

It's a haul, but down in Delavan is a place called Dam Road Gunshop. Mike does AWESOME work on lever gun and slug-gun triggers. Shop has been around since after WWII when Mikes Dad Vern Started it up. A man of few words...And a real talent that won't charge you an arm and a leg. I don't often reccommend anyone, but if it is something in Mikes purview, I will put his name out there. Great guy.

Sorry...I don't cut and paste so goodly!

Uh, never mind! You should have seen that paste befor the computer system at GB straightened it out for me! Also, do a Google search and check Mikes website.

Just kind of another plug for Gary at Sauk City along with some useful information. I had him do trigger jobs on both of my original model Vaqueros, one in .45 Colt and one in .44-40. Also had him fit a Bowen barrel bushing and a Super Blackhawk unfluted .44 Magnum cylinder for the .44-40. Did a superb job. Now I can shoot .44-40, .44 Special and .44 Magnum from the same gun. Ruger .44-40's have a .429 bore diameter like .44 Magnums instead of the original .426 or .427 .44-40's and the original Vaqueros are strong enough that you can do this and make them convertibles. Just in case anyone would be interested in doing something like this. Found the new condition Super Blackhawk cylinder on eBay for $60.

Another vote for the Dam Road Gun shop. I personally have never had any work done there, but have heard ALOT of good about them.
