Winchester Model 42 - Real World Value/Reserve
Hello
Looking for some opinions on the real world value of a Winchester model 42 I recently got in a trade. The reason I say real world, is because I'm wanting to list it this weekend and would like to list it with a "fair" buy it now price. I would like to keep it but need the extra cash for Xmas.... I was hoping to get enough money to buy a couple of Xmas guns for my boys.

The obvious custom engraving kills all collector value. I'd guess it might fetch $500-$600. 0 -

I could have cried [:(]when I saw the "customization" .... But unfortunately it's there BTW gun is tight and matching numbers made in 1948....3" chamber mod. choke0 -
Agree $500.00 Then I would spend another $500.00 having receiver surface ground to remove engraving and refinish 0 -
Based on what I saw at the Big Reno show earlier this month, it is doubtful that you will find any buyers even at the $500 mark. List it with a $350 starting bid, no reserve, and let the market ultimately decide what it is worth. The market for plain Jane Model 42s is soft right now. 0 -
Hello,,, Let us know when you list it,, I am looking for a.410 shooter to start local youth's out on.

That gun will bring more than 500.00 on auction, list it and watch. 0
