    The obvious custom engraving kills all collector value. I'd guess it might fetch $500-$600.

    I could have cried [:(]when I saw the "customization" .... But unfortunately it's there BTW gun is tight and matching numbers made in 1948....3" chamber mod. choke

    Agree $500.00 Then I would spend another $500.00 having receiver surface ground to remove engraving and refinish

    Based on what I saw at the Big Reno show earlier this month, it is doubtful that you will find any buyers even at the $500 mark. List it with a $350 starting bid, no reserve, and let the market ultimately decide what it is worth. The market for plain Jane Model 42s is soft right now.
