The Cowboy model has a 26" octagon barrel.
At one time Marlin would change barrels for you.
    Call 'em up.

I dout marlin will sell you a barrel, but as suggested they might chang it for you. also ask them about replacement wood as they sell stocks reasonably. I did something similar with a m-94, in .44 mag. and after selling the take off parts I came out almost even.

I've had the same thought for a couple years, but can't locate(or get a price on) a barrel either. Just a couple months ago I realized that if I can find a factory barrel, by the time I buy the barrel(which will be $300 I'm sure), magazine tube, and stock/forearm, and by the time I pay for labor to change the barrel, I'll have $500-$550 in it. I will be money ahead to just buy a complete "cowboy" for $600-$650.

Drifter, thank you for the logic of the proposal. I do realize the practical logic of simply buying a new Marlin CB rather than putting all the expense into the 22 inch barrelled Marlin. I just may have to "bit the bullet" on this one. I really like [:)] octagonal barrels on lever action rifles.

Me too. My '95 is a mid- late 70s? vintage that I bought used in 1982. I have had the dream of a long octagonal barrel since I bought it. In the mid '80s I spliced the magazine tube under the forearm, so it has a full length magazine now. I still may get a custom half round barrel complete with wedding ring if I get flush enough.[:p]
