    I think you may have a 3rd Generation "Signature Series". If it has Sam Colt's signature on the backstrap, it's 3rd Generation.

    Although I've seen some optimistic asking prices, they usually sell in the $800-$900 range.

    Yes, 3rd Gen sorry. That's more what I expected, I think I paid just under $800. Back then. Hasn't appreciated much. Thanks!

    Colt Blackpowder Company of Brooklyn, NY under license from Colt Firearms. They are now the Henry Repeating Arms Company.

    Actually, I believe I bought it wholesale when I had my FFL. I don't know what they retailed for back then, probably a hundred bucks higher or so.

    They weren't & aren't very hot sellers. Personally, I think they were kind of cheezy and the Franklin Mint replicas were more authentic looking.

    My Custer doesn't look like this pic. Mine is a solid color, a dark silver nitrate finish. Rather a unique finish, one of the reasons I liked it. Not so ornate beyond the engraving and carved grips.
