Tang sight for High Wall
I am looking to add a graduated peep or mid-range vernier type tang sight for my 1885 High wall. I would like something that looks as close to original as possible. An original period sight would be great, but probably impossible to find. Does anyone have a suggestion on who makes a good creedmore style sight without spending a fortune. I would prefer a case hardened finish if possible, but its not necessary.
Less than $200 would be nice.

The only case hardened tang sight I know of is the Kelley.
MVA is the leader in the field, though.
What do you consider a "fortune" to spend on sights?
The least expensive reputable US brand I know of is Ron Heilman's. He has several customers on the Shiloh board.
Me?
I use Baldwins even though they don't look as period as the MVA.0 -
Original Graduated Peep or Mid-range vernier tang sights were never case color finished... instead, they were blued.
Axtell makes very nice reproductions of original Winchester sights.0 -
Doubt you'll find em any cheaper than this. Jeff is a great guy to deal with too!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I guess I have some shopping to do. Maybe I'll lean towards the blued version to maintain the correct look for the time. I'll try to post some pics someday when I get one on it. 0
