Myres Belt/Holster Made in Mexico

I have a Myres Made in Mexico Belt and Holster. It appears to hold a large frame revolver. It has 25 shell loops that will hold .41/.44/.45 cal. The waist fits 35" to 41".

I am looking for a value on this item. You can see a picture of it at the following link, BOTTOM of the PAGE.

    This would go on the internet for maybe $70-$80. That's just my WAG. If you had a known name who did it then you would see that price triple. Made in Mexico or not. Myres doesn't ring any bells with me.

    BTW, I've been to your store down there in LaCrosse? a few times. Nice place and good prices. Welcome to the forum!

    Are you sure this is not an S. D. Myers Saddle Company (out of El Paso, Texas), item?

    S. D. Myers was a saddlery making all kinds of leather items in El Paso and eventually merged or sold out to another leather maker (I believe it was El Paso Saddlery....not sure). I do not believe they are in business any longer under the S. D. Myers name.

    Anyway, it is possible that S. D. Myers had some items made across the Rio Grande (almost literally a stone's throw away) from El Paso in Juarez, Mexico and that could be why your rig is marked "made in mexico". By the way, most of it wasn't so good BUT, there were some very good leather goods produced in Juarez out of U.S.-tanned leather way back when.

    So......IF it is S. D. Meyers and not "Myers", then the explanation above may be a good one. If not, then the above probably is not valid.

    Not that it matters a whole lot but the spelling is S. D. Myres. The products from the 60s were excellent and holsters easily go for $200+. See: http://www.vintagegunleather.com/company-marks/sdmyres_history.html

    Excellent link! I think that says it all. I think though if it is genuine, then the price would more than triple.

    The belt/holster only says MYRES not S.D. Myres if that means anything.
