Rem 7400 re-barrel to 35 whelan

Is it possible to re-barrel my rem 7400 from 30-06 to 35 whelan ?

  I've done it to a 7600 with no problems

  Same case...just blown out to 35 caliber so the bolt should be fine. I don't much care for the whole 740/742/7400 line, but to each his own.
