Lots for sale on the Auction side. I have 4 Hasting barreled scoped Remingtons that all shoot about 1 inch groups at 50 yards with sabot slugs. I have saddle mounts on all. The cantilever mount might be even better with proper scope. With a little practice these guns are easily 100 deer killers. I have no experience with muzzle brakes.

The main drawback: They will blow your eardrums out over time when used for hunting, unless you wear hearing protection when hunting, which most of us don't do, as we want to hear the game animals approaching. The main advantages: Greatly reduced felt and actual recoil, muzzle doesn't jump up as much, and you can get back on the animal quicker for follow-up shots, if needed.
Lastly: If you sight-in at a public shooting range with a muzzle brake (be it shotgun or rifle), you most likely won't make any new friends. Some of the folks will want to shoot at you instead of the target downrange.

Hasting slug barrels have a great reputation. They are accurate and dependable.

suggest you go to: Proxibid.com ....which are auction sites. Check them for shotgun slug barrels. Last month I bid on Hastings Remington 1100 RIFLED slug barrels, new in the box. My bids got one for $85 and the other for $110 (plus 15% commission). Sold them both as I don't have a 1100.

Proxibid had a bad rep for bait and switch and other problems. Have they improved?

I noticed last month while looking for 20 ga. cantilever slug barrels for a friends 870 that there was one from Hastings, ported, "24 fully rifled for 200 dollars...made by Verney-Carron. Yeah, THAT Verney-Carron. Holy Crap...they make $100k + double rifles! Seems like a good deal to me!
