S&W K22
T wanted me to ask y'all about this S&W.
We were wondering what would be a fair price on it.
Here is the sellers description.
"22 long rifle K frame 5 screw revolver serial number 6711xx. Has 6 inch pinned barrel with slight bulge 1 1/2 inches in front of cylinder, recessed cylinder, and humpback hammer. Finish is rough with some pitting."

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not seeing any "slight buldge" in the barrel.

I have recently purchased a nice 6" barreled K22 Masterpiece and would like to know the year it was produced. I've read nothing but good about the weapon and finally found a nice one that an owner was willing to part with including the original box. The S/N is K13,XXX. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. 0 -
According to the latest edition of the Blue Book of Altered, Abused, & Neglected Handguns, your pistol should sell in the $100-200 range (depending upon lock-up & bore condition).

Blue Book of Altered, Abused and Neglected Handguns.
That's a goodun'. I'll have to remember that one Neal.
Thanks for the input Neal. I was trying to talk m'self into it, and think you talked me out of it.0 -
IMHO, if you could get into it with out spending alot? It could be glass bead blasted and then Parkerized. This goes a long way to discuse the pitting by blending it in with the rough blasted Parkerized surface. Even with the bulged barrel it might work out to be a descent loaner or knockabout trail gun. 0 -
Dunno' Rufe, after looking through a few completed auctions $349+shipping seems a bit rich for something to shoot packrats with.
Wish I'd been quicker on the draw with the first one I found.0 -
Hell, for $350 you could probably find a fairly decent post 57 model 17 without the bulge. 0 -
I'm with Rufe. Assuming the bore and timing are OK, I'd say its worth $200. More if the barrel isn't really bulged.
Even in this lousy external condition, the gun could still shoot pretty well, and as a "shooter" its likely superior to a lot of lesser branded .22s.0
